Partners for Health was honored to continue its 10+ year affiliation with Montclair Film with a special screening of the documentary film, Truth to Transformation, on November 20, 2025. Th event’s co-presenters included The Burke Foundation, the New Jersey Department of Children and Families (DCF), and Powerful Families, Powerful Communities NJ (PFPC).
Truth to Transformation shares powerful stories of families and community leaders working together to reshape child welfare through honesty, partnership, and lived experience.
DCF Commissioner Christine Norbut Beyer welcomed the audience and provided an overview of this initiative.

Following the screening, cast members Dashaan Jennings and Kayann Foster; Antonio Bellamy, PFPC Program Director; and Cheryl Houser, Director of Truth to Transformation participated in a deeply engaging panel discussion moderated by Jason Butkowski of DCF. Together, they explored what it truly means for government to collaborate with communities—not simply by gathering feedback, but by co-creating solutions grounded in trust and shared leadership. The discussion emphasized the importance of centering lived experience in systems change and reflected on the tangible policy outcomes emerging from this work.
We’re grateful to everyone who joined us for an evening that underscored the power of family voice and community partnership in building more equitable systems.
