Montclair Ambulance Unit
A grant was given to the Montclair Ambulance Unit (MAU) for two powered stretchers, with the goal of reducing back injuries to EMS providers and improving outcomes for patients who need emergency medical service and transport to Montclair and surrounding communities. According to Frank J. Carlo, EMT, Deputy Chief of Emergency Medical Services for MAU, since the conversion from a manually operated patient carrying device in 2015, MAU has had ZERO patient or staff injuries in relation to the use of a powered stretcher.
