Partners for Health Welcomes New Trustees! 

Partners for Health is pleased to announced the following individuals have been elected to serve on the Foundation Board (pictured from left): 

Vicky Hernandez is the Executive Director of The Waterfront Project, a nonprofit legal center and HUD-certified housing counseling agency dedicated to providing free civil legal representation, housing counseling, and advocacy to New Jersey residents facing housing instability and eviction. A mission-driven leader with more than 25 years of nonprofit experience, Vicky has dedicated her career to strengthening communities across New Jersey and New York in affordable housing, youth development, community development, domestic violence, and child and family services. In New Jersey, she has worked with Ironbound Community Corporation, New Jersey Community Development Corporation and La Casa de Don Pedro. Her experience spans executive leadership, fundraising, communications, program development, and organizational growth, with equity and community impact at the center of everything she does. Vicky is bilingual in English and Spanish. She holds a Master of Public Administration from NYU’s Robert F. Wagner School of Public Service and a B.A. from Dickinson College. 

Yvonne Nolan champions initiatives aimed at breaking down barriers to capital access and building stronger communities. Yvonne currently serves as Vice President, Education and Innovative Investments at Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) providing strategic leadership over LISC’s K-12 facility investments and its soft financing product for small businesses, emerging developers, and nonprofits across the country. In this role, she is deeply committed to enhancing economic mobility and community outcomes through financial and technical assistance. 

Yvonne previously served as Director of Operations at Achievement First Public Charter Schools in Brooklyn, NY, and as an Associate in Market Risk Management and Analysis at Goldman Sachs. Yvonne holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Syracuse University and a Certificate in Educational Policy Development from Boston College. In her spare time, she enjoys playing tennis, spending time with her kids, and volunteering in her community.  

Dr. Theodorea Regina Berry, a native of Philadelphia Pennsylvania, serves as Dean of Bloomfield College of Montclair State University with a tenured faculty appointment as Professor of Curriculum Studies, Department of Education Foundations, College of Education and Engaged Learning.   

Upon completion of her doctoral degree, Theodorea Berry completed a three-year postdoctoral research fellowship at the University of Illinois at Chicago awarded by the American Educational Research Association (AERA). Dr. Berry’s research appears in such journals as the Review of Educational ResearchInternational Journal of Qualitative Studies in EducationJournal of Curriculum Theorizing, and Race, Ethnicity, and Education. Dr. Berry has published books and numerous book chapters; she is lead editor of Latinx Curriculum Theorizing (Lexington Books, 2019) and lead editor and contributing author of From Oppression to Grace: Women of Color and their Dilemmas Within the Academy (Stylus Publishing, 2006) as well as author of States of Grace: Counterstories of a Black Woman in the Academy (Peter Lang, 2018).  She is also co-editor of The Evolving Significance of Race in Education: Living, Learning, and Teaching (with Sherick Hughes, Peter Lang, 2012). Forthcoming book projects are Twenty Years of Curriculum Theorizing: JCT 2000-2020 (Peter Lang with Robert J. Helfenbein) and Love and Power: A Curriculum of Black Joy (SUNY Press with Boni Fernandes Wozolek). 

Dr. Berry serves as the 2023-2026 Vice President for Division B (Curriculum) of the American Educational Research Association. 

Locally, Dr. Berry is a Diamond Life member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., North Jersey Alumnae Chapter and a member of the Saint Peter Claver Catholic Church in Montclair. In her spare time, this classically-trained soprano enjoys singing, writing poetry, cooking, and international travel. 

Alvin Massy is a senior finance and strategy leader with more than 20 years of experience advising healthcare, life sciences, and financial services organizations on growth, transformation, and capital strategy. His career spans investment banking, corporate advisory, and governance roles, where he has partnered with executives, boards, and investors to navigate complex markets and deliver durable outcomes. Alvin brings a rare blend of analytical rigor, stakeholder engagement, and purpose-driven leadership, with a deep commitment to advancing equitable, patient-centered, and community-focused impact.
